This one began with a simple question:

How does architecture become meaningful through the people who bring it to life?

Conceived and created during a single day inside Los Angeles's historic Orpheum Theatre as it celebrated its centennial, this series explores the relationship among architecture, movement, light, and imagination. Rather than documenting ballet or architecture independently, these photographs explore the space where each elevates the other.

As performing artists moved through grand balconies, ornate staircases, backstage corridors, and across the theatre's magnificent stage, the Orpheum became a living collaborator. Architecture became storyteller. Light became choreography. With each movement, the theatre revealed another way of seeing one of Los Angeles's most treasured landmarks.

These photographs invite viewers to slow down, look more carefully, and discover those fleeting moments when architecture, light, and the human spirit become inseparable.
