BIOGRAPHY

Canadian born, Barbara Runge is committed to the study of the language and mystery of art. She believes that through the exploration of art we can begin to perceive harmony and in turn feel harmony within ourselves.
Barbara has been a very successful painter for many years and recently turned her efforts to photography and easily finds her subjects very close to home– in her garden.

Queen of the night (Peniocereus greggii) is a desert cactus native to Texas, Arizona and northern Mexico. Its nickname evokes its elite status, a result of its beautiful, night-blooming, fragrant white flower. The flower is rarely seen in the wild, however, because it only survives for a few hours.
Barbara is fortunate in that she has raised these flowers in her garden and can be camera-ready just as they are blooming.
