mitchell hartman is an illustrative photographer based in New York City, specializing in fine art photography using the street genre as a starting point for his work. He uses this form to express his view of the contemporary urban experience—particularly that of the five boroughs of New York. His current, ongoing series is called “Museums: Portraits from an Exhibition” explores various levels of observing using museums as his environment.

 

Mitchell received his BFA in commercial illustration from the School of Visual and has been exhibited by several prominent galleries, and has been represented by the Susan Spiritus Gallery, Newport California since 2011.
